The Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidary Economy, Nicolas Schmit, has been meeting with representatives from the HR industry, from Higher Education Institutions and Training Providers, of Cities and Regions as well as from Clusters and Associations for Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) to discuss Europe’s skills development plan for the future. On 18 September 2018, Minister Schmit joined the RH Expert Breakfast Session to present Skills Bridge in the context of the digitalisation of the HR sector. He further attended the Skills on Smart Industrialisation Specialisation and Digital Transformation Expert Workshop organised by the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) in Brussels, where he discussed the currently existing skills gap in Europe and brainstormed solutions as to how to best tackle this challenge.
